ABOUT Paul
What makes me a suitably qualified tutor to help you on your English journey?
Conversational English requires knowledge on a wide range of topics, and nothing educates better than life experience. My career was in policing, and I was a police officer for 15 years, however, I have also worked in the solar industry, bus tours around Australia, resort work in far north Queensland and community welfare work for youth and disability. I also owned two businesses, a pet shop, and a plant nursery.
I completed a Bachelor of Social Science (Social Welfare) and TEFL/TESOL Master course. During my police career I studied youth suicide prevention, sexual assault as well as advanced driver training and self-defense.
I have spent 5 years teaching English in China, working in Nanjing, Nantong, Quanzhou and Xiamen teaching both adults and year 10 students. I love the Chinese culture, history and the people and understand the similarities and differences in our respective cultures.
I am honest, reliable, and discreet so our conversations can be cathartic as well as educational as I have experienced the highs and lows of living a full life and can share many examples.
I hope I have given you enough information to confidently choose me as your conversational English Tutor. For more information, feel free to contact me.
